This is just an idea at this point, but I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in a group trip to Tuscany? A few years ago, we took a trip with my family and rented two villas on a hillside vineyard in Chianti. It's a great spot, about 20 minutes south of Florence, and convenient to visit Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Montalcino, etc. I would love to go back and thought it would be a fun place to go with friends. One of the villas has a beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyard and we cooked dinners many nights and ate out on the terrace. That villa has 2 bedrooms plus a sleeper sofa; the second villa has 3 bedrooms (one with twin beds) and I think also a sleeper sofa. You can rent one or both. If you're interested, take a look:

Last time we rented directly through the owners, so we got a discount off the advertised rates. Thoughts, anyone? Meredith, have you had too much of Italy? I'm thinking maybe of October sometime, but am open to other suggestions!
Did anyone ever eat at this place? I know there was some talk about going when it first opened, so I thought I'd share this news. Icky.
(I seem to be the bringer of bad news on this blog! My next post will be a happy one - promise!)
A few people mentioned at the lake that they had used Airborne in the past, so I wanted to point out that the FTC settled deceptive advertising charges with the company today. If you purchased Airborne between 2001 and 2007, you can file for a refund (with or without a receipt) for up to 6 product purchases. Details are available at the FTC website. Go get your money back! The deadline for filing for a refund is September 15.
