Kristin is reporting that NBC has given FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS a full twenty-two episode second season order. To quote Kristin:

Well, flip my biscuit and color me giddy (that’s Texas talk!) ’cause sources tell me the official word of FNL’s pickup came down today, and the cast is getting ready to fly out to New York City to attend NBC’s upfront presentation.

Gimme’ a ‘K’… Gimme’ a ‘E’… Gimme’ a ‘V’… Gimme’ a ‘I’… Gimme’ a ‘N’… What does that spell… NBC President Kevin Reilly. Thanks for bringing back one of the best new dramas of the season.

They're screwing the show with a Friday night timeslot. Maybe not a big deal to folks who already love the show and have Tivo/DVR, but that timeslot isn't going to help them get many new viewers.

So was that suppossed to be Richard's dad?  Or are we suppossed to think he doesn't age?  Or are we suppossed to think long hair richard was 20 years younger than now Richard??  I was so confused by that?   Did Ben kill his GF too?  I totally don't think we say the end of her- she got way too much screen tim eto leave that open and no way Locke is dead.  (I hope).  How did Juliet flipping over the tape justify anything?  that whole thing was waaaaayyyyy over my head.

i assumed it was richard and that he wasn't aging on the island, but now that you mention it, it could have just been young richard with long hair.  for a show that has such high production values, they do sometimes skimp on the young-old thing.  like ben with the fake hair line, and young john locke with the bad 30-something wig and the same leathery, 50-something skin.  yeah, i don't think the GF is dead either, nor locke - no way he's dead.  i guess ben never saw miller's crossing:  always put one in the brain.

jack's self-righteousness is starting to get extremely annoying.

lots of things to think about and make the head spin. Not sure about the whole Richard age thing-could be poor production or he just doesn't age. What I find interesting is that Jack and crew are, apparently, going to take on the Others. What if they win the battle and become the inhabitants of the island? And then Locke becomes the leader and they never leave. The Island somehow always creates a fresh generation

still annoys me to no end, despite that "he knew". too sketchy still. i think there may be a no aging thing, they didn't even attempt to make him look younger. and the most interesting theory i've heard as to why locke doesn't die (b/c we all know he won't), is that he was shot where his left kidney WOULD HAVE been, and since it isn't there, that's what will save him. of course, jacob may "help him" since ben didn't, despite what i think may have been jacob's instructions to ben to help locke. but either way, ben is evil, jacob's creepy, locke rocked the house but i feel like will surely make a bad decision soon to f it all up..... and i hope sawyer and sayid don't let jack take control.

is performing a few blocks from my office at lunch tomorrow. I know everyone is jealous. Even though I think the rightful final should be Jordin vs. Melinda (which could be epic), i do want blake to win.

i couldn't wait. i watched it at 11:30 last night and now am exhausted. i'm half annoyed with the show and half more in love with it. very conflicted.

So this website claims to have slowed down the scens in that shed last night and captured frames with images of Jacob.  Also, no way Locke is dead.

is jacob the black smoke and the reason some people can see dead people? i don't think ben can really hear jacob, but freaked out that locke could. locke already made him appear weak in front of the hostiles(!). so much to write about. incredible, incredible episode.
